Why a GAF Roofing System Is a Worthwhile Investment

Are you planning to replace your roof soon? You might be thinking about getting an extensive siding repair as well if you’re updating your home’s exteriors. But whatever your reasons, getting a new roof is a huge undertaking. Of course, you may be considering that extensive roof repairs may suffice instead of a full replacement, but don’t be fooled just because your roof looks mostly intact. There’s always a chance that it may have sustained hidden damage throughout its serviceable life.

As a homeowner, you should never settle for subpar quality and workmanship. Even if you choose a high-quality roofing material for your replacement project, it won’t be worth it if it isn’t installed properly. And if it isn’t installed properly, it won’t perform as intended and you may end up with premature repairs. If you want a solid system that uses world-class materials and is installed by the best contractors in the industry, then a GAF roof is the perfect choice for your home.

Why Choose GAF?

If it’s your first time getting a roof replacement, then you probably aren’t aware of why GAF is worth the investment for your home. It is one of the biggest roofing brands in the industry that is well-known for its superior quality and reliability. Because of GAF’s focus and commitment to producing exceptional products and services, many roofing and siding repair companies prefer installing GAF products.

GAF roofing products offer multiple levels of protection that you won’t find in other brands. Some, in fact, require GAF materials to be installed by certified and experienced roofing contractors. This means you get to work with a certified contractor who is properly licensed and adequately insured to meet GAF’s stringent standards.

When you work with a GAF Master Elite® Certified Contractor such as Villwell Builders, LLC, you can be sure that your roof will be built with exceptional quality and workmanship. We’re also one of less than 2% of all contractors across the country who are qualified to install GAF products.

So, what makes a GAF roof better than the other leading manufacturers?

A Wide Range of Colors and Styles

As one of the biggest shingle manufacturers in the industry, GAF produces shingles in many styles and color palettes. With the extensive selection of architectural, designer and specialty options, GAF products cater to many home styles that have different types of visual and performance requirements.

GAF’s Timberline® shingles, which are one of the brand’s widely known products, aren’t limited to the usual brown and earthy colors. This option also comes in different color palettes that cater to any residential exterior, including slate, hickory, missionary brown and weathered wood. They also won’t fade easily thanks to GAF’s proprietary Color Lock™ firing technology. This means you won’t have any trouble finding a long-lasting color scheme that suits your home’s architecture.

Increased Home Resale Value

If you’re planning to sell your home soon, a GAF roof won’t just turn heads and enhance its visual appeal. Because of their level of durability and longevity, GAF products are a major selling point that ensures the home is safe and secure from various elements. Because GAF products are widely recognized across the country, potential buyers tend to be more interested in purchasing a house if its roofing uses GAF materials. And as long as a roof is installed by a certified roofing and building renovation contractor, the buyers can be sure of its workmanship and longevity.

Excellent Durability and Reliability

When you choose GAF for your roofing system, you’ll get better and more enhanced protection compared to competing brands. Through our different layers of roofing products, you gain superior weather protection as well as fire and wind resistance. A GAF roofing system also has adequate ventilation so your attic and roof receive the proper cooling needed to prevent moisture and mold growth. You won’t even have to worry about algae growing on the surface thanks to GAF’s Stainguard Plus™ protecting your shingles.

Reliable Roofing Warranties

Your roof is a big investment, so it makes sense to have it secured with a proper warranty. This ensures coverage from manufacturing defects, workmanship errors and anything else that’s beyond your control. And with GAF, you get a solid roofing warranty that only a few manufacturers can readily offer as a solid testament to its excellent craftsmanship.

As certified GAF roofing and home improvement contractors, we also have accreditation with the Better Business Bureau® and we ensure our workmanship is backed up by only the best lifetime warranties in the industry. We offer several warranty choices:

  • GAF Shingle & Accessory Limited Warranty – This warranty plan applies to any shingle and accessory product installed on a free-standing single-family detached home. It’s one of the most basic warranty plans GAF offers for its shingles and other roof accessories that come with a 10-year Smart Choice Protection Period. This is essentially a 10-year warranty for your roof, along with 10 to 25 years of algae warranty depending on the product. You also get 15 years of wind warranty that covers a maximum wind speed of 130 mph.
  • GAF System Plus® Limited Warranty – If your new GAF roof uses qualifying GAF shingles and at least three accessory products, then it’s eligible for this type of warranty. It offers a lifetime warranty term for GAF shingles with a 50-year Smart Choice Protection Period. You also get 10 to 25 years of algae warranty and a 15-year wind warranty. And if it’s needed, you’re also covered for roofing tear-off costs.
  • GAF Golden Pledge® Limited Warranty – This is a premium roofing warranty that has the same eligibility requirements as the System Plus warranty along with a few additions. For one, you’re not only covered with the roof tear-off cost but also for its disposal. You also get a 25-year workmanship coverage, but if you choose a specific shingle product line from GAF, it can be upgraded to 30 years.
